This is a partnership between schools in
Romania, Turkey, Ireland & Italy

promoting European Heritage.

This project is funded with support from the
European Commission.

CauGht nOt Taught is a Comenius Partnership with four partner countries from Romania, Turkey, Ireland and Italy. The project is coordinated by the Romanian school and is aimed at students between 10-14 years.

The project was put together as a result of a study conducted in our schools in which we found that, due to the phenomenon of migration in European countries, our schools have recently welcomed a growing number of children from other countries. Therefore we identified a need to enhance cultural awareness of our students in order to make them understand and respect other ways of living.

All aspects of the project will focus on important aspects of everyday lives and tradition. We hope that all activities will have a positive impact on the students, teachers, and school communities involved as a whole.

At the end of the project we will have a 5-Volume Folk Encyclopedia and also 3 Thematic Booklets that can be used as support for teaching about culture and tradition for years to come.
